Grateful November: Start a New Habit

November is a reminder to us all to give thanks for all we have in our life. I love Thanksgiving because it gives us a few days off work, a break from the daily hustle, to slow down and enjoy our family.

So I want to talk about gratitude for a minute. I wrote about gratitude back in March and if you missed it you can read it here.

Today I want to talk about the HOW to make a conscious effort every day to focus on what you’re thankful for. These November thankful challenges happen on social media all the time so you’ve probably got a little bit of an idea on what to do. But I want to give you how I’ve made it an everyday habit long past November. And it’s SO simply. You can start this today! Right now.

I wrote down a minimum of 3 things I’m thankful for every morning in a journal.

There are lots of gratitude journals on the internet you can buy that are a little more guided but I just bought a plain notebook at Staples.

Some days I have deeper thoughts on my heart and some days I will be honest, I kind of struggle with what to write and look for the little things.

The point is I start each day with a grateful heart and it’s changed my life! So my challenge to you is to start today. It’s November and the perfect time to reflect on your appreciations. And then I encourage you to keep going everyday after.
